WPE Dances with the Spirits and Celebrates the Memories at Día de los Muertos in Brentwood

Commemoration, exhilaration, and celebration rang out in Brentwood at the Día de Los Muertos festival this year. White Pony Express shared in the exuberance by dancing and parading through the streets with banners and our gold and blue shirts… We loved joining our Brentwood neighbors in such a spirited and joyful way!

“It was a fun event all around – The participants cheering, bands playing music, traditional outfits, and Aztec dancing. I felt the warmth from our community. It was wonderful to witness firsthand. My favorite part was being there to represent White Pony Express and holding the banner in the parade.”
– Naditza Comacho, WPE CA Climate Action Corps (CCAC) Fellow

“I loved the idea of being in Brentwood as a representative of White Pony Express! Engaging with the community gave me so much fulfillment. I loved how many individuals recognized or had volunteered with us. I can’t wait to go back next year!”
– Maria Alfaro, White Pony Express Volunteer

It was a memorable opportunity to share our commitment to engaging with our neighbors through a circle of giving and working together to end food insecurity in Contra Costa County.
