To all our incredible food donor partners—thank you. On Tuesday, May 27th, White Pony Express had the joy of welcoming many of you to our Concord distribution center for a special appreciation event. The reception was designed to celebrate you—our generous food donors—and the essential role you play in nourishing neighbors across Contra Costa County.
Sixteen food donor partners joined us for a behind-the-scenes tour of WPE’s facility, where you saw firsthand how your contributions are received, carefully sorted, and delivered with love to over 100 nonprofits serving our most vulnerable community members. The energy in the room was electric as we came together to reflect on the shared impact of our work.
After the tour, Eve and Pete shared WPE’s 2024 Impact Report, which highlighted YOUR impact on reducing food waste and landfill, creating cleaner air through subsequent reductions in methane and GHG, and providing county-wide access to fresh, healthy food to thousands of neighbors every day. Many of you expressed how meaningful it was to see the journey of your food donations and to hear stories that brought this generosity to life.
To those who couldn’t make it—you were missed. These events are one of the ways we hope to stay connected and deepen the relationships that make this work possible.
