Through the Food Rescue Hero Initiative, WPE has initiated an innovative collection and distribution system for smaller, more frequent donations. Using the White Pony Express Food Rescue App (think Uber for food recovery), food donors can signal when they have excess food and an available food runner volunteer will pick up and deliver it directly to a nonprofit organization that feeds the hungry.

Volunteers using the app will receive a ping when a local food donor has excess food. Available volunteers can claim the run and will receive detailed directions and other important information.

In less than an hour, you can prevent perfectly good food from going to landfill and provide food security for our most vulnerable neighbors!
