When SNAP benefits were suspended in late October, thousands more families suddenly faced an impossible choice—pay rent or buy food.
White Pony Express (WPE) jumped into action, launching one of our largest countywide food drives ever, now running through December 31. The goal: to keep shelves stocked and meals on tables.
What’s Needed Most
We’re asking our community to donate protein-rich, shelf-stable foods, including:
🥫 Canned tuna, chicken, or salmon
🥜 Nut butters
🫘 Beans and lentils
🥛 Shelf-stable milk
🍲 Canned soups and chili
“Our community has always met crisis with compassion,” says Eve Birge, WPE CEO. “By donating these nutritious foods now, you ensure families have the groceries they need to stay healthy and hopeful this season.”
