One of many new food donation partners this year is Chick-Fil-A. Chick-Fil-A operates a program called Shared Table which is administered by Food Donation Connection. WPE picks up surplus chicken, salads, yoghurt and other community favorites and our partners take this bounty and combine it with other ingredients to make stir fries, scrambles, and casseroles.
Two WPE recipient partners that provide direct support services to the unhoused have benefitted from the generosity of the Walnut Creek Chick-Fil-A. GROW Concord and Mark’s Outreach Ministries take the donations and create well-balanced meals to share with those without shelter. Mark had this to say about his latest delivery “Monday I was given two boxes of coleslaw, fresh fruit, and desserts from WPE along with chicken and buns from Chick-Fil-A and created 288 meals. It was an awesome meal! The best one ever.”
The Walnut Creek Chick-Fil-A team, from the kitchen staff to the owner, has been beyond supportive of WPE’s work to end hunger and reduce unnecessary food waste. WPE is proud to be a Shared Table partner to Chick-Fil-A. Their donations are not only plentiful but coveted by our nonprofit partners!
