Our mission is to eliminate hunger and poverty by delivering the abundance all around us to those in need — with love.
WPE is launching our year-end campaign — Food in Motion, Love in Action — to meet the surge in need and sustain WPE operations through the coming months. Every volunteer shift, every dollar, every donated food item directly supports our mission to serve with compassion and efficiency.
OCTOBER 28 – DECEMBER 31
Drop Off Location: 2470 Bates Avenue Suite D, Concord
MON-FRI 8am-3pm | SAT-SUN 8am-2pm
White Pony Express countywide food drive to support neighbors who continue to experience disruptions in CalFresh (SNAP) benefits has been expanded through December 31.
A strong community response will keep healthy food flowing to our under-resourced neighbors throughout the holiday season and beyond.
Operating seven days a week, 365 days per year, WPE’s food rescue program has recovered millions of pounds of fresh, high-quality food and delivered it to hundreds of nonprofit partners serving our most vulnerable neighbors. Every delivery is customized to meet the specific needs and preferences of each nonprofit partner.
This innovative, app-based program is like Uber for food recovery! Using the White Pony Express Food Rescue app, donors signal when they have surplus food ready for pick-up and volunteer food runners claim the run and deliver the donation to a nonprofit that feeds the hungry.
WPE’s Clothing and Care Program collects and distributes new clothing and essential items via our Mobile “Pop-Up” Boutique. This program is focused on our unhoused neighbors and children aged 0-5.
This unique initiative brings happiness and warmth to communities across the county over the holidays. Each hand-decorated star highlights a specific item needed by an adult or child facing challenges, creating an opportunity for the community to contribute directly to those in need.
Regardless of whether you invest time or money – we can all play a role
in the fight to end hunger and reduce food waste.
When you support WPE, you join a movement of pioneers united to end hunger and poverty through a volunteer-powered model.
WPE volunteers are the heartbeat of the organization. Our work would not be possible without them. If you believe in our mission, help the pony deliver by signing up to serve!
WPE is honored to receive regular recognition from public officials, media outlets, community organizations, and state and county agencies. In addition, independent charity evaluation firms have weighed in with their rankings, including a four-star rating from Charity Navigator and the platinum seal of transparency from Candid – their highest accolades.
